2022/2023 Global cotton production is expected to increase by about 3%

As the global economy continues to recover from the recent downturn and supply chain problems, the US Department of Agriculture recently released a report that global cotton consumption is expected to grow at an average rate and is expected to exceed production in 2020/2023. At the same time, global cotton production is expected to increase by 3.2%, with more acreage harvested in some countries.

  Global cotton production in 2020/2023 is expected to increase by about 124 million bales from last year, which would be the highest global cotton production since 2017/2018.
